Jonathan D. Pender, ACNP is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner licensed in Virginia and Johns Hopkins–trained. Since 2014, he has practiced in both otolaryngology (ENT) and urgent/emergency care, with a clinical focus in otology, including disorders of hearing and balance. He currently works full-time at Richmond ENT, where he specializes in the evaluation and management of hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, chronic ear disease, and middle ear pathology. He also provides emergency care several days per month at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center. Mr. Pender has completed over 50 independent medical evaluations (IMEs), both locally and internationally and offers expert consultation and medical record review in the fields of ENT, emergency medicine, and primary care. He provides standard of care opinions for nurse practitioners and physician assistants in both outpatient and acute care settings. His ENT experience includes hearing loss, tinnitus, vestibular disorders, sinusitis, hoarseness, allergies, TMJ dysfunction, and head and neck cancer, while his emergency care scope covers workplace injuries, infections, chest pain, hypertension, diabetes, and other acute conditions. He is a SEAK-trained expert witness, mentored by Michael Armstrong, MD, who is also available for ENT-related expert consultation. Mr. Pender is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the Society of Physician Assistants in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
