Jonathan D. Pender, ACNP is a Johns Hopkins trained, board-certified, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) licensed in Virginia. Since 2014, he has divided his time about 50:50 between the specialties of otolaryngology (ear nose and throat) and urgent care. Mr. Pender is currently employed full-time with Richmond ENT and practices emergency medicine about 5 days per month. Mr. Pender performs medical record reviews and independent medical examinations within the specialties of otolaryngology, primary care, and emergency medicine. He can testify with standard of care opinions regarding nurse practitioners and physician assistants (PA) working in these fields. Common ENT consultations include the evaluation and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, sinusitis, allergies, hoarseness, swallowing disorders, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), neck masses, and head and neck cancer. Mr. Pender’s current emergency medicine and primary care experience includes workplace injuries, community acquired infections, pneumonia. sepsis, hypertension, chest pain, neurological changes, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders, lacerations, skin diseases and other common urgent and emergent illnesses. Mr. Pender is a SEAK-trained expert witness working under the mentorship of Michael Armstrong, MD, who is also available for expert ENT consultations.
