Dr. Boczar is a Board Certified (ABEM) Emergency Physician with over 30 years of post-graduate clinical experience working in a Level I Trauma Center. As of January 2025 he has transitioned out of the clinical arena, however, has still maintained his Board Certification in Emergency Medicine. He was an active member of the Credentialing Committee for 18 years at Hurley Hospital, Flint, Michigan, the last 13 of those as Credentialing Chair. He was also a 20 year member of Quality Assurance, with 15 of those years as Chair of the committee at Hurley Hospital. In addition, Dr. Boczar has served as an Oral Board Examiner (ABEM) for 8 years. He was also previously involved in his hospital's Medical Legal Review Committee. Dr. Boczar has continued his role as Physician Advisor for Utilization Review which requires the review of 1000+ cases/year. Dr. Boczar has previous expert witness/medical legal case review experience and has completed MCOLES training. He has served as an expert witness in numerous cases including strangulation/erotic asphyxiation, inappropriate credentialing and medical malpractice, representing both the plaintiff and defendant. Publications include book chapters as well as numerous journal articles. Additionally, Dr. Boczar has served as a Medical Director for a community hospital Emergency Department as well as currently negotiating all insurance contracts for the hospital where he is employed.
