Michael Gorman, PhD, PT, DMT, FAAOMPT, CMTPT/DN is an expert clinician, educator, and business owner. Dr. Gorman is regarded as an expert in the field of Physical Therapy with extensive knowledge on current best practices, insurance reimbursement, business regulations, and clinician management. Dr. Gorman has achieved the highest level of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy training recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). He has also completed the Dry Needling Certification program through Myopain Seminars. Dr. Gorman served on the APTA of Missouri State Board from 2010-2023, including serving six years as the Vice-President of APTA MO. Dr. Gorman was a private practice physical therapy owner during his career from 2002-2017 and again from 2020-2026. In 2017 he successfully sold his seven clinic physical therapy practice to a national health care company. He re-entered private practice in June 2020 when he started iMove PT, a mobile and Brick & Mortar physical therapy practice based in St. Louis, MO. In 2022, Dr. Gorman began franchising iMove PT to physical therapists throughout the US. He then opened the first iMove PT brick and mortar location in Chesterfield, MO in 2023. In April 2026, he sold the outpatient clinic to a physical therapist who became his 7th iMove PT franchisee. In addition, Dr. Gorman is a very accomplished speaker. He has been a frequent guest lecturer on Orthopedic Manual Therapy for the 2nd year Washington University Physical Therapy students in St. Louis, Missouri. He has lectured at Missouri PT chapter meetings on a variety of clinical and business topics. In April 2025, Dr. Gorman was the Keynote Speaker at the APTA MO Spring Conference. Dr. Gorman has served as a physical therapy expert witness since 2015. He has been an expert in over 40 legal cases since 2015, representing both the plaintiff and defense sides.
