Dr. David Meguerdichian is a board certified emergency medicine physician and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is an attending physician in the Beth Israel Lahey Health system practicing full-time in both academic and community hospitals. Dr. Meguerdichian is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Boston Medical Center where he served as chief resident in his final year. He subsequently practiced for 16 years as an attending physician at the academic and community sites for Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and served as an assistant professor teaching pre-clinical and clinical medical students at Harvard Medical School. Through his years in practice, Dr. Meguerdichian has educated hundreds of students and resident physicians. In his current role as the assistant medical director of the Neil and Elise Wallace STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation, he has focused on the use of simulation to improve physician procedural skills, patient safety, and closed-loop physician communication. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and lectured on key topics in emergency medicine. Dr. Meguerdichian received the Outstanding Faculty Educator Award for his efforts in medical education, simulation and curriculum development within the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program. More recently, Dr. Meguerdichian has taken on an administrative leadership role within the BWH Department of Emergency Medicine as the Director of Observation Medicine. In this role, he provides clinical oversight, guides operational decisions, and performs quality reviews for the care provided within the observation units at both the main academic campus and community hospital for the BWH system. He has lectured nationally on Observation Medicine and currently is the chair-elect for the American College of Emergency Physicians Observation Section. Administratively, he also served as the Mass General Brigham Director for Emergency Services for the Healthcare at Home service line overseeing the team providing emergency services and observation care to patients in their home. Last fall, Dr. Meguerdichian was recruited to serve as the Director of Emergency Medicine Network Development for Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA-- part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health System. Dr. Meguerdichian has completed the SEAK Expert Witness Training Course. He is an excellent communicator and educator. He is professional, easily accessible, and highly dependable.
