Joshua Matthews, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He was educated at the University of Missouri in Columbia and received his MD degree in 2009. He then completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kansas. After residency, Dr. Matthews underwent additional fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine in San Diego, California.
As a fellow, he was fortunate to work with athletes at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. In his nearly 10 years in practice, he has gained extensive experience in the minimally invasive treatment of sports and work-related shoulder and knee injuries. He additionally cares for a variety of traumatic and general orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Matthews enjoys an active lifestyle of rock climbing, hiking, paddleboarding, cycling, and fitness training. Dr. Matthews’s passion for staying active drives his motivation to help patients maintain their physical activity and recover from injury.
