I am a consultation-liaison and emergency room psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, specializing in the care of patients with co-morbid medical and psychiatric illness. As an emergency psychiatrist, I regularly perform risk assessment for suicide and harm to others and make decisions about whether patients need to be hospitalized involuntarily.
