I am a board-certified emergency medicine physician with active clinical practice at a Level I trauma center, multiple community hospitals, Native American healthcare systems and free standing emergency rooms. I also hold the position of Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine, where I provide bedside teaching. I have taught medical students and trainees, developing expertise in conveying complex clinical concepts in a clear and accessible manner. I developed my interest in medical expert witness work through a longstanding interest in the intersection of medicine and law, particularly as it pertains to the legal and ethical dimensions of healthcare delivery. Dr. Fiorello is a residency trained, board certified, practicing emergency physician. He has been an attending physician since 1998 in the emergency department of a high-volume, academic, Level 1 trauma center. He has also worked for 4 years for the Indian Health Service in a small rural hospital ED. He is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona, where he is the Emergency Medicine Residency Director. He has years of experience reviewing cases as an outside consultant for the state medical board and his hospital’s quality and peer review committees. He is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer and former director of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. He has lectured in Emergency Medicine on the local, regional, and national level and has authored many abstracts, scientific articles, and book chapters in the field of Emergency Medicine and medical education.
