Emil Shakov, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon with expertise in this field. He earned his MD from the American University of the Caribbean in 2004. He completed a surgical residency in 2009 from the Seton Hall School of Health and Medical Sciences. He completed a fellowship from The Valley Hospital in 2010 in minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery. He began his career with a high volume emergency general surgery cases in 2010. He moved on to a high volume bariatric surgical group in 2012. Dr. Shakov opened his own private practice in 2013. Since 2017 Dr. Shakov has been offering services such as independent medical examinations, case reviews, causality, and worker's compensation.
