With more than 70 papers, textbook chapters, and educational presentations, academic medicine was an integral part of my career. Topics have included optics, refraction, glaucoma, cataracts, uveitis, infectious disease, pterygium, dermatology, and retinal disease. I was recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor from 2007-2010 and 2015-2016, and in 2000 I was awarded the King Leon of Armenia Medal of Honor for meritorious ophthalmic care.
My clinical background combines board certification in ophthalmology with dual fellowships in oculoplastics and cataract surgery. My medical education and advanced training included the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Wills Eye Institute, Cooper Memorial Hospital, McGill University, and the University of Montreal.
