Dr. Scherl is a board-certified, trauma fellowship-trained, orthopedic surgeon with more than28 years of clinical experience. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, and his fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He has performed over 3000 surgeries.
Dr. Scherl ran a solo private practice in New Jersey from 2002-2024. During that time, he took call at Hackensack University Medical Center, a Level-1 trauma center. He currently practices Acute Care Orthopedics at a Level-3 trauma center in Connecticut for TeamHealth, a physician staffing company. There he covers the emergency room, treats patients in an outpatient clinic, and performs emergent and urgent orthopedic surgeries.
