Curtis M. Beloy, PE is an engineering consultant specializing in vehicle crash reconstruction and mechanical defect investigations. He analyzes incidents involving all types of vehicles- including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, electric mobility products, and off-highway vehicles (OHVs). He uses advanced tools for site and vehicle documentation, retrieval of electronic crash data (CDR), forensic video analysis, and computer simulations / animations. He is a skilled automotive mechanic, adept at studying vehicle designs, interpreting evidence, and solving problems. He has testified as an expert witness in depositions, trials, and mediations since 2008. A lifelong enthusiast of motorcycles and powersports, his career spans two decades of product development at OEM suppliers, crash analysis at forensic firms, and defect evaluations at a vehicle testing firm. He has evaluated large-scale recalls and crashes involving vehicle stability, controls, electronic aids, suspension, and overall vehicle design. He has consulted manufacturers on product design and the US Border Patrol on ATV safety. He has expert knowledge about rider control and vehicle responses, including real-world insights gained from 25 years of off-road racing and first-hand experiences of vehicle crash behavior. Mr. Beloy graduated with honors from Minnesota State University with Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a board-certified Diplomate in Forensic Engineering (DFE). He is an active member of several industry societies, where he has published research, presented at conferences, and keeps current with industry practices. He has held teaching roles as an Adjunct Physics Professor and STEM instructor. He is Principal Engineer and Co-owner at 4Moto Engineers LLC in Madison, Wisconsin and provides consulting services nationwide.
