Additional Information

Experienced anesthesiologist, board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology. Harvard-trained at The Massachusetts General Hospital, fellowship trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The cornerstone of my high-volume practice is the continual progression of patient care based on evidence-based practices and careful analysis of outcomes. I began medico-legal consulting in 2022, providing quality services for both Pediatric and Adult Anesthesia cases. This was a progression from considerable experience with quality and risk management within my anesthesia group, the hospital, and the healthcare system. Since 2018 I have personally reviewed all surgical readmissions within 30 days of the surgery at my hospital, typically on the order of 30-40 charts per month. As the Medical Director of Anesthesia and Perioperative Services, I also evaluate all cases that are red flagged for quality/legal review, and spend substantial time on quality improvement projects with at-risk clinicians from a variety of medical and surgical specialties. In addition, I sit on the Quality Committee for my anesthesia group, reviewing anesthesia conduct of 40+ physicians and 70+ CRNAs. Since beginning my career in 2016, I have played a pivotal role in perioperative medicine, both within the hospital and in the larger context of the Premier Health system in Dayton, Ohio. Some specific projects to date include leading a team to establish an ambulatory total joint arthroplasty program, formation of a high-volume ENT service line that includes considerable pediatric volume, redesigning our pre-anesthesia testing (PAT) program, remodeling of perioperative hip fracture protocols, and multimillion-dollar pharmacy cost-savings projects. I have also established two clinical rotations, training student CRNAs (SRNAs) in regional anesthesia and emergency medicine residents in advanced airway management & ultrasound-guided procedures.
